WANASA BEACH

The Failaka Heritage Beach which is only 400 meters from the Village has undergone a complete face lift, and is now operated by Fahad under the supervision of the village management. Fahad is able to offer jet skis, water skis, cruises to Maskan Island, fishing cruises, banana boat rides and much more. There are private areas for families with showers and also a supermarket and burger restaurant.

A VERY, VERY SPECIAL GUEST VISITS FAILAKA

On the morning of Saturday 14th March, the British population on Failaka Island grew by 33% when Middle East Peace Envoy and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair visited Failaka Island and the Heritage Village. Mr. Blair was greeted by the other two "Brits" on the island, Christopher Hartley the General Manager of Failaka Heritage Village and his wife Denise who is the Executive Housekeeper of the Village and Manager of Failaka Heritage Riding Stables. The visit was very short, but Mr. Blair managed to tour the Heritage Village and the Palace of Sheikh Abdulla Al Salam, also the archeological site where he visited the Greek ruins, in the photograph below Mr. Blair is photograpahed with Denise, the Greek ruins and columns can be seen in the background. We all wished Mr. Blair a fond farewell and were happy to have been visited by such a charming statesman.
